Gripple city-wide corporate membership
Sheffield City Trust has welcomed over 600 employees from world-leading manufacturer Gripple to fitness and leisure venues across the city as part of a unique corporate membership agreement.
The manufacturer’s deal with the not-for-profit organisation grants employees, and their families, full-access to the Trust’s seven-different gym and swimming facilities across Sheffield including the English Institute of Sport Sheffield in Attercliffe, Ponds Forge in the city centre, and Hillsborough Leisure Centre.
Employees from Gripple, and its partner companies Loadhog and Laser Scanning, can also access On Demand activities online to keep active from home. They’ll also receive nutritional advice and additional support to encourage regular exercise.
David Palmer, GLIDE House Manager at Gripple, said: “At Gripple we take great pride in looking after our employees, and doing everything we can to encourage a healthy, active lifestyle is one of the best ways to ensure positive physical and mental wellbeing in our team.
“Sheffield City Trust stood out from the competition as the perfect partner for Gripple as they could offer unparalleled flexibility and variety of activities. They worked with us to come up with a bespoke offer for Gripple, providing our employees with the freedom to attend any venue and choose additional activities such as golf to suit our employees’ personal needs.”
Sheffield City Trust recently revamped its membership offering to include swimming in all membership options and offer access to any of its 7 venues to better meet the growth in hybrid working arrangements.
The changes were made as part of a drive to ‘break down barriers’ that could prevent local people from getting active. As Sheffield City Trust is a not-for-profit organisation, any money invested goes back into the local community to fund world-class venues for the city.
Andrew Snelling, Chief Executive at Sheffield City Trust, added: “As restrictions and furlough end, companies across the City are now back up and running. Looking after employees’ health and wellbeing has never been so important.
“We work with organisations large and small across the City to offer bespoke flexible solutions providing their employees access to a range of fitness and leisure activities to improve health, wellbeing and productivity.
“We are determined to do everything we can to support as many people as possible across Sheffield get fit, healthy and active, and we’re delighted to be welcoming an internationally renowned manufacturer like Gripple to our world-class venues across the city.”
Sheffield City Trust launched in 1987 as the UK’s first leisure trust, and has inspired the local community to get fit and stay active for over 30 years. It has invested almost £50m into improving its facilities and reaching local communities since 1990.
The Trust manages 13 fitness and leisure venues across the Sheffield City Region, as well as the Utilita Arena Sheffield and Sheffield City Hall. More than 1,000 members of staff are employed by Sheffield City Trust, and more than 90 per cent are from the Sheffield City Region.
