Time to Celebrate!
We were delighted recently to help Autism Centre for Supported Employment celebrate their 20th anniversary with a fantastic event at Ponds Forge.
Members of ACSE came together with local partner organisations including Sheffield City Trust, as well as the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Sioned-Mair Richards and Lady Mayoress Councillor Jackie Satur, to celebrate the vital work carried out by the charity supporting people across the city with Autism with their journey into employment.
We are really proud to work closely with Autism Centre by offering work placements to their clients to help grow their confidence and develop skills to assist them into supported paid employment.
Autism Centre also provide regular training and guidance for our Line Managers to better support people with Autism in their teams and help create a positive work environment where they can flourish.
We love what they do and really value their support. For more information on the fantastic work ACSE are doing please visit https://ac4se.org/
New Lifeguards Make A Splash!
Over the last few weeks we have been excited to offer National Pool Lifeguard Qualification courses at Ponds Forge to a new generation of budding lifeguards.
The latest group of learners are now ready to go forward into employment with Sheffield City Trust as Leisure Assistants at our pool venues.
Their enthusiasm and professionalism have really shone through and we are sure they will have a bright future in the industry.
Reaching Up
As part of our ongoing work to promote the Trust as an Equal opportunities employer of choice, we have forged relationships with several local community groups. Recently, members from People and Service Delivery team & the Programming and Development team had the opportunity to deliver an Employability workshop session for Reach Up Youth, a fantastic local Community Group based at Verdon Street Centre in Burngreave.
Over 50 local people of all ages attended sessions on CV-writing, interview skills, employment advice and career opportunities at the Trust.
There was pizza, basketball and tons of enthusiasm from everyone involved in what was a really positive event which we hope will be the next step in a great ongoing relationship between the Trust and Reach Up Youth.
